The Parish Council has been working with Somerset Council and the police for the past couple of years to extend the 20mph speed limit in the centre of the village, and also to extend the 30mph speed limit on a short section of the A361 (see plan below). It was hoped that these changes would be enacted in the autumn of 2023, but certain constraints within Somerset Council mean that the changes were delayed. The Parish Council now understands that the work is scheduled for July/August 2024. Hopefully, once the reduced speed limits are in place, this will encourage more walking and cycling in and around the village.
