Somerset became a single Unitary Authority from 1st April 2023.
The new unitary council brings together the services previously provided by the four district councils in Somerset (Mendip, Sedgemoor, Somerset West and Taunton, and South Somerset) alongside the services provided by Somerset County Council.
The new Council continues to work alongside the existing town and parish councils and their role will be enhanced through the creation of new Local Community Networks. Rode sits within the Frome Area LCN, and more information can be found here: https://www.somerset.gov.uk/local-community-networks/lcn-pilot-projects/frome-area/
Details of the County Councillors for our Division (Frome North) are here: https://www.rodevillage.com/parish-council/councillors/.
Their monthly reports (from April 2023 onwards) appear under the section below titled “Councillor’s Monthly Reports – Somerset”. Prior to April 2023 our District Councillor’s reports can be found under the section below titled “Councillor’s Monthly Reports – Mendip”.
