Pickard

Pickard George. Will made 22 November 1681. Proved 1682.

In the Name of God Amen the two and twentieth day of November Anno one thousand six hundred eighty one I George Pickard of North Bradley in the County of Wilts Yeoman findeth myself to be weak in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be unto God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following(that is to say)

First I commit and commend my soul into the hands of God who gave it hoping through the mercies of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to be made partaker of everlasting life. And as touching what estate God hath lent me in this world I do dispose of the same as followeth. Imprimis.

First I give and bequeath unto my only son George Pickard all my right title and interest in my house with the appurtenances lying and being in the town of Road in the County of Somerset now in the occupation of me the said George Pickard.

Item. I give to my daughter Anne the now wife of William Davis the sum of eight pounds of good and lawful money of England.

Item. I give to my daughter Mary the now wife of Robert George the sum of ten pounds of good and lawful money of England

Item. I give to my daughter Sarah the now wife of John May the sum of ten pounds of good and lawful money of England.

Item. I give to my daughter Elizabeth Pickard the sum of thirty pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid unto her when she is four and twenty years of age or at her day of marriage which of them first shall first happen to be.

Item. I give to my daughter Honor Pickard the sum of thirty shillings of good and lawful money of England.

Item. I likewise give to my daughter Anne Pickard the sum of thirty pounds of good and lawful money of England.

Item. I likewise give to my daughter Hannah Pickard the sum of thirty pounds of good and lawful money of England.

Item. I give Edward Jones of the parish and County aforesaid Yeoman the sum of two shillings and six pence.

Item. I give to Richard Parsons of the same Yeoman two shillings and six pence.

All the rest and residue of my personal estate goods and chattels whatsoever I do give and bequeath to my loving wife Anne Pickard. My will is that if my daughters Elizabeth Honor Anne or Hannah or any or either of them shall happen to depart this mortal life before they are four and twenty years of age they being then unmarried the portions or sums of money aforesaid to them by me given shall remain to my wife Anne Pickard aforesaid to her use and at her disposal and her do I make and ordain the only Executrix of this my last Will and Testament.

And I further do make ordain constitute and appoint my trusty and well beloved friends the aforesaid Edward Jones and Richard Parsons the only Overseers of this my last Will and Testament desiring them faithfully to perform the same.

And I declare that my body may be buried in the Churchyard of North Bradley at the discretion of my Executor aforesaid.

And I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former Wills and Testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof I the said George Pickard have hereunto set my hand and seal this being my last Will and Testament the day and year above written.
