Phipps Thomas. Will made 8 August 1800. Proved 6 September 1803.
In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Phipps of Road in the County of Somerset Clothworker being infirm in body but of sound disposing mind memory and understanding praised be to God for the same nevertheless considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament as follows (that is to say)
I give to my dear wife Elizabeth Phipps one hundred pounds three per cent Bank Consolidated Annuities now standing in my own name in the Books of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England to and for her own use and disposal.
Also I give to her my said wife during the term of her natural life all my household goods and furniture and after her decease I give the same to my son.
Also I give to my son John Phipps of Great Marlow in the County of Buckingham gentleman all the rest and residue of my ready monies securities for money goods chattels and estate of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever the same is are can shall or may be at the time of my decease (and not otherwise disposed of as aforesaid). To hold to my said son his executors and administrators as his and their own proper goods chattels and effects.
And I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint him my said son John Phipps sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby declaring all former Wills and other Testaments dispositions void. In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained in this and the preceding sheet of paper to the preceding sheet set my hand and to this sheet my hand and seal this eighth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Phipps the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the sight and presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto the word ‘only’ in the preceding sheet being previously interlined.
