Climate Emergency

Rode Parish Council formally declared a Climate Emergency in early 2021. A Climate Emergency Group was established later in the year, and in 2022 expanded to cover the villages of Beckington and Norton St Philip. More details about the group and its objectives, together with Newsletters, advice and guidance, can be found by following the links further down this page.

The Rode, Beckington & Norton St Philip Climate Emergency Group is taking a short break, and is on the lookout for a new leader. Having been in the hot-seat for three years Jim McAuliffe stepped back from “leading” the Group in the Summer of 2024. For the first 3 years of its existence the Group organised a number of successful events, produced a monthly email newsletter, and sought to highlight the climate emergency locally. However, the time has come for someone with more expertise, energy, and time, to take on the mantle – and in particular to inspire us to reach the next level. If you think that person is YOU – please drop Jim a line….and, if it’s not you, but you know someone who could be interested, please ask them to get in contact: jim.mcauliffe@btinternet.com
