Somerset Council is consulting on priorities for its next annual budget. Closing date for responses is January 15th.
Somerset Council provides many local services – from adult and children’s social care to rubbish collection and recycling, public health and education, roads, transport and leisure services, as well as support for businesses.
Like many households across the county, SC faces financial challenges, caused by factors outside their control. The cost of delivering services is rising in the same way that everyone’s cost of living has risen. Like Somerset’s residents, the Council wants to live within its means, but their budget is near breaking point.
